CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY

Imagen
Critical Thinking and Media Literacy Today, critical thinking and media literacy are fundamental tools we need in a world full of information. Critical thinking helps us to question and evaluate the validity of what we read or hear, allowing us to distinguish between what is credible and what is not. On the other hand, media literacy trains us to analyze different messages, whether in news, social networks or advertising, and teaches us to recognize bias and manipulation. Through the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), learning spaces are created that are not only personalized and flexible, but also independent of time and place. The authors invite us to reflect on the delicate balance between student autonomy and teacher guidance, highlighting how digital tools can be powerful allies in the development of language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This approach not only promotes continuous and adaptive learning but also makes it a motivating experience that connects classrooms to broader, dynamic contexts.
